Williamsburg: Pink Melon Joy to be Performed for the First Time in NYC

Pink Melon Joy is an early Gertrude Stein play never before performed in New York City.

The play will be performed by member of Brooklyn’s own Brave New World Repertory Theatre. The company prides itself on performing both classic and new works in unique and historic Brooklyn venues.

Their latest production tackles Stein’s abstract, fragmented text while interpreting its domestic-centered language as a fanatical pursuit of sweetness amid horror and violence.

Performances will be held Friday, June 27th (7pm) and Saturday, June 28th (2pm & 7pm) at Cloud City.
