Park Slope’s Community Bookstore is not your average book shop. Since opening in 1971, this has been a warm, welcoming space for readers of every variety to relax by the garden with a good book and likeminded company (including a cat and turtle that live on the premises). You never search long for a new read, as rotating staff recommendations will keep a flux of interesting titles at your fingertips.
Fun Fact: Early this year, author Toni Morrison was slated for a book signing in Community Bookstore, but ended up selling over 1,200 tickets, forcing the signing to be moved to another venue.
