Dodge Y Brings State-of-the-Art Changes to Gym Facilities

reno4Natural light, state-of-the-art equipment and a new floor plan is bringing a whole new life to the Dodge YMCA at 225 Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn.

Rich in history and deeply rooted in the community, the Dodge Y used the need for necessary renovations to ensure a better experience for their clients, young and old.

“Through these renovations, we were able to open up our floor plan and provide more accessibility to our equipment, which created more space for functional training,” said Healthy Lifestyles Director Beth Kolacki.

“Being on the 3rd floor of our building gives us natural light in our cardio, strength and studio rooms which you won’t find in many fitness centers of our surrounding area.”

Along with new, interactive technology to track your workouts and connect with the coaches at the Dodge Y, the experience rivals any new, top-tier health studio.

Due to Dodge’s popularity, the renovations were much more than cosmetic. They were necessary. “The renovation freed up much- needed fitness space that will allow current and new members to exercise without feeling like they’re working out in a studio apartment,” said Executive Director Dave Andrews.

“We were able to open up the walls and create an open concept floor plan with new fitness equipment and create one of the nicest Yoga and Pilates studios around,” said Andrews. “Plus, our cycle classes may no longer need a waitlist and the facility will be cooled to the perfect temperature.”

Wait, what? Cycle classes with no wait list? Where do I sign up? Here: www.ymcanyc.org/dodge. ($0 joiners fee going on right now! Just sayin’)
