The Brooklyn Children’s Museum is getting seriously high-tech in the future. This Brooklyn staple is putting the finishing touches on a multi-million dollar rooftop canopy that looks like something out of Star Trek.
The high-tech covering will reflect sunlight off of visitors and encourage more Brooklynites to utilize the space for private functions and receptions. It was designed by architect Toshiko Mori and is made of steel and ethylene tetrafluoroethylene, a substance that is 1% the weight of glass and transmits more light.
Don’t worry, the roof will also include grassy areas as well as dining and lounging areas. We can’t wait to see it completed!
