Prospect Heights: Brooklyn Museum’s First Saturdays
On July 5th, beat the heat and celebrate summertime in Brooklyn with outdoor activities, music, and…
TODAY, August 7th, Two Trees Management Co. and the DUMBO Improvement District’s First Thursday Art Walk will take place from 6 to 9 p.m., featuring art gallery previews, openings and events.
On the first Thursday of every month, DUMBO galleries stay open late and local restaurants and bars offer specials, for a night of art, gallery openings, artist talks and live performance.
The August edition includes Tatyana Fazlalizadeh: Stop Telling Women to Smile, a series confronting gender-based street harassment hosted by IFP Made in New York Media Center; The Ides of Summer, an exhibition featuring street art and figurative painting hosted by Mighty Tanaka; an exhibition of student artwork from a summer session hosted by local arts education studio Art Workshop Experience; and much more.
Visitors can enjoy incredible views of the East River and the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges as they walk from one gallery to the next, and can enjoy local drink specials after their tour. The event is free and open to the public.
