The Greenest Block in Brooklyn contest promotes streetscape gardening, tree stewardship and community development throughout Brooklyn. The winners of this year’s competition have just been announced by the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.
Prizes were awarded in categories such as greenest residential establishment, best street tree beds and greenest storefront.
Here is a list of a few of the top spot:
Residential Category: Macon Street between Ralph and Howard Avenues (Bed-Stuy)
Commercial Category: Montague Street BID / Montague Street between Clinton and Henry Streets (Brooklyn Heights)
Best Children’s Gardening Project: East 25th Street Block Association / East 25th St between Clarendon Rd & Avenue D (East Flatbush)
